From our website:
I went to my first DEP (Delayed Entry Program) meeting today, which was a Salvation Army event where I helped pack up Christmas goods to needy famillies in Winchester. It was pretty slow and really cold, but it was good to finally be doing something with the AF and try to meet new DEP people. Thanks to Clayton for coming along. I found out one of the kids I did my initial processing with will be shipping out the same day as me (4/13/10), and it made me feel really good to know I’m not alone. You can try all you want to prepare yourself for the mental onslaught of basic training, but I imagine it will be a huge help to go in with someone you know.
I also found out that my AF job (Airborne Communications) is more awesome than I thought. My recruiter told me I’m the only recruit he’s had in 6 months that has qualified for that job, and that it’s one of the most in-demand jobs of those going for Flight Crew. Sweet.
